Birdfeeder!

Hello everyone!

I am in a rather good mood right now! Good music, and looking at birds. I love birds. Anyways, we recently bought a new birdfeeder, and the birds completely ignored it for 3 days, then came in flocks! However, they didn't make it easy to get pictures of them.

Everytime I saw them, I grabbed my camera and went outside. Apparently even from the deck, quite a distance away, it was enough to scare them, so they all flew away. I went back inside, they came back. So I went out again, and they flew away. It was quite a problem. Then I had a stroke of genius. I set up my monstrous tripod on the deck, aimed my camera and told it to take a picture every 10 seconds. It did so, and I went inside. It then proceeded to take 300 pictures, many of them including birds.

I have now sorted through them, and found these 3 that I'd like to show off!

These are two birds sharing food. I found it especially amusing, because in the next shot (which if you remember, is 10 seconds later), those same two birds are puffed up and trying to stare each other down. :)

These were some of the coolest shots I had. Birds in flight. Unfortunately the birds wings move too fast to get a still image but it looks neat none the less.

Sometimes the bird feeder had quite a few birds on it at once (plus a few spectators in the tree). Here is a shot with quite a crowd.

Anyways, thats it for today! More later in the summer of this bird feeder I hope.

More Pictures!

Hello everyone, two weeks is long enough, so I have even more pictures, again from the zoo. The weather is warming up though, eventually I'll gather to motivation to go outside. Anyways, first my boring life update. It was really foggy this morning, and I love fog so that was good. I also have a good book and little homework. :) Anyone interested in reading a probably boring book, pick up Genesis in Space and Time by Francis Schaeffer. Or don't, it really doesn't matter. Anyways, here are pictures!
Does this really require a comment? It is an adorable monkey eating a carrot. And this guy didn't make it easy to get a portrait either. It was either hiding in a dark corner or moving too fast to get a shot at.
This is a caribou. The kind you hear about the Inuit hunting, I had never actually seen one until I went to the zoo.
Sorry about the sidewaysness of this picture. It is a male snowy owl and I think it looks absolutely amazing. The lighting isn't lovely either, but I had to work with what I had.
This is a spoonbilled something or other. I really liked it. And it stood on a log about 5 feet away and posed for us for like ten minutes, so I took very many shots of it.
Well, I hope you all liked the pictures,
God Bless,
Keilan

I POST AT LAST!

Hey there everyone! I know, I know it has been more than a month. I'm sorry, but I have a series of pictures for you, the I will post over the next few weeks. (It's still cold, so I have to keep my picture supply lasting a long time).

I went to the Calgary Zoo recently, and took many great pictures, so I will post them. No fewer then 5 will be put online today! So without further ado, enjoy!

This is a golden eagle. I took a picture of it through the bars. It was kind of the consolation prize after the bald eagle evaded any good pictures, but it is beautiful none the less.

This is a gorilla with a scar of some form on it's chest. It took around 6 tries to get a steady shot of this guy.

These two owls were an interesting find. While looking at some curled up furry things, my friend heard chirping, we then looked up to see 4 yellow eyes staring down at us. These were also not seperated from us by any bars, so I decided not to use my flash for fear of scaring them.

This is a lion, but I'm betting you all know that already. I quite liked the looks of it, so I took a picture.

This is an elephant trunk, I couldn't get any good full-elephant shots because the bars were in my way, so I settled on an extreme close up.
There you go, I hope you have enjoyed this post! Just a few interesting notes, during my day at the zoo, I took 377 pictures, and since my photos tell me the exact moment they were taken, I did some math and found out that means I took 1.3 pictures every minute. I also took my 4000th picture while at the zoo.
Have a nice day everyone!

Keilan

Hello Hello Hello

Hey everyone!

I am on a week break from school, it is very nice, haha. In fact, I would be at school right now, but I'm NOT! Ha :)

Anyways, I have two pictures, nothing special, but they are pictures. The weather seems to be warming up a bit, before long the animals should come back and I'll be able to get some half-decent shots!

This is a rock (can you tell that I'm running out of subjects). But there is a catch... you see, this rock is reflected in the ice!!!!! (fancy, I know)

Here is my second equally dreary picture. I personally prefer the grass green and the river running, but you know, who am I to decide these things.

Haha, great pictures I know, maybe something green will surface eventually.

Keilan

No picture.

Hey all!

I'm afraid I once again have no pictures, because it's been cold. Minus 20 in fact (thats something in fahrenheit, but I don't feel like converting it). SO I didn't go outside. I was also sick yesterday, but I have recovered fairly well. yay.

Anyways, I have little to say. I am going to go look up a book by a guy named Josephus, for anyone interested, apparently he's a Jewish Scholar who wrote in 100AD. Thats a long time ago. So I want to read whatever it was he wrote down.

Happy New Years!

Hey everybody!

It's been too long since I last posted I think, I'm sorry! I hope everybody has had an excellent Christmas/New Years and all that. I have taken a few pictures, and today I even went out to chase some geese, but they all flew away before I could get any very good shots so I'm afraid there will be no pictures of them. Maybe next time. I've been seeing some more little backyard type birds, so if the weather keeps warming up, maybe I will have some good bird shots soon, YAY!

Anyways, I have been busy in a lazy sort of way. I spent all day at my friends house yesterday doing math. At least thats what I said I was doing, but it's math for bonus marks anyway... so we didn't work very much. Well enough about that, on to the pictures!

This is another picture of the same spot I have summer/winter photos of in my last post. It's just a bit snowier in this one.

This is a picture of the valley with the sun shining down on it. I thought it had a neat effect.

This is a branch at the lake. Anything can look cool if it's close-up enough, hehe.

Well thats it for today, I hope to bring you bird shots in the near future but sadly I have none today.

God Bless,
Keilan

New Pictures!

Hey everyone!

For the first time in quite awhile, I actually have new pictures for you! On Christmas, I decided it was warm enough to get up and go for a walk, and well, what a walk it was. Proof that I am getting fat in fact, you see I was half dead by the time I got home. I have something against following the beaten path... but you know, there is something exilerating about running along the top of a coulee. Some of those paths were not meant for human travel and I almost fell several times. I did however, get pictures out of it! They are not great, bear in mind I am still rusty from several months of inactivity and it was incredibly windy (hard to get a good shot when you're being blown all over the place.

This is a shot of the coulee that was beside me for the most part.

This was the path I was following, this is what it looked like when I turned around to see where I was coming from. I think that the path beaten there is either from water melting and running downhill or from deer, because I have never seen another human walking these paths.

This next shot probably doesn't seem to match the other 2, mainly because it was taken quite some time ago. However, if you look below it you will see the exact same scene taken in a completely different season. There is quite an extreme difference in climate between seasons here, and I liked the comparison.

Well that is it for today!
Merry Christmas and God Bless,
Keilan

Merry Christmas!

Hey everyone!

I know it's not Christmas yet, but well, I felt like posting today and it's been awhile. So I will officially post this early. I have decided that as of right now the weather is in fact warm enough to take pictures and hope to have some this tuesday. If I'm not busy, and seeing as I don't have school or work, I don't see myself being busy, haha.

Anyways, I have little to say, my aunt and uncle are over so I have been forced out of my bedroom, it's scary. Thankfully it's only for one day and then I can return to my dwelling place. It is also 10:17 and I am very tired, so I think I am going to bed now.

Everyone have a great Christmas, and hopefully I'll bring you some pictures soon!

Hello again!

Hey all!

I figured I just had to post since I got my drivers license today! It was pretty scary, but I managed to get only 40 points off (if you got more than 75 you failed). Turns out I don't look at stuff enough, oh well, still a pass. So now I can drive! Okay, maybe not, we need to get insurance, and since it's Friday, that might take until Monday because places close on the weekends a lot. Oh well, I'll live I suppose, haha.

Anyways, thats about all I had to say, I got a new videogame (Ironically, it's Need for Speed, lets have a violent racing game to improve my driving), hehe. Well I am going to wrap this up, I think I'm going to get a few more pictures ready to send to costco to be printed (I haven't done that in ages)

Edit: I just read the comment to my last post, turns out I need to add something pretty to look at. So I found a picture of a car... and anyone looking for a Christmas present... this is the one... just kidding :)

YO!

Hey everyone!

Sorry about the lack of posting, I am in the middle of what is quite possibly the busiest week EVER. I've had 3 fairly big tests, a christmas concert, and 3 after school drivers ed classes. Basically, I'm ridiculously busy. Best case scenario though, next week I'll have nothing to do but I'll drive there anyways with my newly earned license! (I hope... scary drivers test).

Well, besides that, not much is new in my life. I'm going to math club tomorrow (I think they came up with a better name than math club, I missed last meeting). Anyways, I should go, I just finished my homework and I'd like to get to bed. Tomorrow I leave the house at 7:00AM and won't be back until like... 8PM, yay. Lol, well, enough complaining from me, to be fair, all this junk I'm doing is by choice, so to be fair, I'm actually rather lucky. Hehe. There we go, the cup is now half full, I feel better already.

I am definatly beginning to rant. In fact, I bet you're wondering when I'm going to stop typing. I admit, I'm really not sure. Probably in the near future. I guess. Why are you still reading? Oh well, I guess you have nothing to do. Sorry. Nothing else exciting here. There you go, that 10 seconds you spend reading this... you never get it back. No refunds.

Sorry :P

God Bless,
Keilan

Good day everyone!

Hello all,

I have decided it has been too long and that my blog needs an update. As can be expected, no pictures, the weather has been a bit nicer, but it is still too cold for my camera for the most part (fun fact: frozen lenses take bad pictures). Anyways, I have been rather busy, filming a movie in social, which is about the most exciting thing since watching paint dry, and drivers ed, which is actually moderately fun.

Turns out that I can drive. Not well, but better then a good chunk of the adult drivers (because they're all crazy, absolutely crazy). I drove on the highway today and lived to talk about it, so I figure I can't be that bad. Haha, anyways, I have some stuff I need to get done, so I will rap this up.

It's been awhile!

Hey everyone!

I haven't posted in quite awhile, so I figured I should post again now. I really don't have much to say. I really really wanted to take some pictures on monday, but I couldn't. It reached -34 celcius that day and reached -37 the next day. If those temperatures don't mean anything to you (supposedly some people use some other crazy scale), then basically, thats very very very very very very very very very very very very cold.

Anyways, my social class got boring (agricultural revolution), I really just couldn't care less about how farmers got more richer. Oh well, it's better now. Even though I have a crazy project now. Actually, I'm going to go play a game now, so I will post again eventually.

God Bless,
Keilan

Update!

Hello everyone!

It's been 8 days now, so I figured I should write an update. I have been rather busy lately and haven't posted any updates. That is probably because I'm still recovering from working until 11:30PM on Friday.... my MANAGER who shall remain nameless made me do it! (haha, just joking, it was pretty fun, and I have a great manager).

Anyways, I have to write a journal from the perspective of a church-member in the medieval era. Hooray! I wonder if they could afford mp3 players.... hmmmm. And that King Louis guy sounds like a jerk (or is it King George)... oh well, maybe I should figure it out before I write the journal.

Well, thats all for today,
God Bless,
Keilan

A second blog?

Yes, that is right. A second blog. I wanted to differentiate somewhat between this blog, and the one where I hope to store my huge amount of creative works. I created a blog to host funny articles written by me. As of write now there are 2 and a half such articles in existence, and I am only confident in the humour of one of them. That one is in my new blog, which can be accessed in a manner than I am about to describe.

But first, my regular update on my exciting life. Well, I started math and social in school. That sucks. In fact, I'm supposed to be doing homework right now. I hope you're all happy, you've gone and distracted me. Secondly, work on saturday was fun. The sewer backed up and it randomly started coughing up water into the A&W kitchen. Therefore, we had to close for an hour, and I basically got paid $11 (extra pay for rememberance day) for pushing water back down a drain. Not a bad deal I think. I have also developed a decent immunity to bad smells, so the smell really did not bug me much. Hoorah!

Okay, now for the second blog link. To get to it, you have to simply look to the left of this post and click once on the picture of me holding a camera. This will bring you to my profile page. On this profile page, listing my interests, you must scroll down to the bottom of the page. You will see links to two blogs, this one, and a second blog titled "Random Humour". Go there. That will lead you to my second blog, which currently only has one funny article up. Many of you will have already seen my moderately famous "The Truth About Ducks" article. Those of you who haven't may enjoy it.

Keilan

Hello everyone!

Hey all,

I really don't take pictures in winter I'm afraid. I dislike cold. But I will give you another boring update on my life. Actually, I'm rather excited. I went to the bank, and found I have money that I didn't know I had. So I was like celebrate! My mom says I should celebrate and save it... I say thats no fun, so I'm going to celebrate and buy this:

Yes, I know it's pretty. Well to me anyways, I'm kind of a nerd. But well... ya. I want it. So with my newfound riches I'm going to buy it. It also comes in black, but recently white has grown on me. Go me.

Anyways, I know you all care. I also have two finals tomorrow, that I dont' want to study for but should be. So I should maybe go do that soon... but first:

Hah! Now you're all going to have nightmares. I actually did take that, although I'm ashamed to admit it!

Well, thats it,

Keilan

Pictures! (That I didn't take)

Hey all!

I know I haven't posted in awhile! But I guess winter is just my off season. I prefer taking pictures when my hands don't freeze to the camera! However, just for your viewing pleasure, I have found two random pictures on the internet that I did not take and do not belong to me. I am posting here, hoping the photographer won't find me and well... I dunno what they could do, haha. They are very cute so I must show them to you. All credit goes to a photographer whose name I do not know.

Okay, number 1 here actually does have a copyright on the bottom. Whoever took this needs to lend me their bunny because it is so cute and I want to hug it.

Here is a kitten. I really don't need to say anymore, it's about the most adorable thing ever.

Just to make sure this is very clear. I did not take these. I only wish I took these. I just figured I needed to put some pictures up here, even if they arn't mine. Unfortunately, once it warms up and I start shooting again on a regular basis, nobody is going to care about my shots. (I showed you real talent, now what do I do...) Haha.

Anyways, I'm tired and I still have homework to do, so I will update again... whenever :)

Hey all!

Hey there everyone! It has been awhile. More than week, haha, sorry.

My computer was giving me trouble, so I have been playing around with it
and trying to get all the bugs out. It took awhile. Hopefully it worked, but I won't know until I restart. Anyways, no new pictures today I'm afraid. I dont' really like the cold weather haha.

I'm kind of excited today, I got a new CD (my 19th Christian CD, I'm so proud, haha) and a big book set. So I have entertainment for awhile!

Anyways, I have to head off to work right away,
God Bless!

Finally!

Hey everyone! It has been awhile. Cold weather does not lend itself to blog posting. Theres just nothing to show and nothing to talk about! Although the fog today was crazy, I could barely see. Anyways, on to the pictures!

Heres another landscape shot, before it got dark.

These two are just tree branches outlined against the sky, I thought it had a neat effect.

Well thats it today, hopefully I'll post again sometime. I've been busy on my Christian Metal hunt. I've actually found some winners. Yay for good music!

Keilan

A few landscapes...

Hey all, I know it has been awhile, I most sincerely apologize. I really hate to do text only posts, but you know, thats what I'll probably end up doing a lot lately unless you want to wait 2 weeks between posts, haha. Today however, I do have some shots!!!

This is the sky near the beginning on my walk, it was very pretty and the moon was out.

Here is the sky near the end of my walk, it got real pretty and purple. Haha.

Well that is all I have for today, I will hopefully have a few more up in my next post but no promises.

God Bless,
Keilan

Pictureless Post

Hey everyone!

At least, if anyones left, I'm sure at least half of you turned away after seeing this post was titled "Pictureless Post", haha. I'm afraid that I can't get any pictures up today, although I do have some new ones, I have yet to go through them and get the good ones.

I am slightly angered at Dove (my local Christian store). I called on Saturday to pre-order Pillars new CD (It's called the Reckoning, if you're a heavy rock fan, BUY IT!).

This Space Has Been Freed Up For An Urgent Edit!!! I have suggested that you buy Pillars new CD if you are a rock music fan. I strongly doubt anyone actually would on my word alone, but just in case anyone would, I'm posting this. The CD was a dissapointment. As a general summary, Pillar went soft, oh well, they were good before, maybe their next CD won't be as dissapointing as this one.

So anyway, they said it was in and they could sell it on Oct. 3 (today and the day it's released). So I go to the store after school today to pick it up, and I'm told the shipment didn't come in... which was supposedly in Saturday... so I'm mad and head home. When I get home I have a message on the machine saying the CD is in and I can come pick it up!!!

It's nice to be able to get Christian CD's locally (internet buying sucks), but man that place is uncoordinated. I can't get mad at the people, all of them are really friendly, but I think their computer system is messed up... and now I don't have a CD I wanted today, rats!

Anyways, rant is over, God BLess!
